The Major Taylor Cycling Club's first official club ride in 2023 was nothing short of excitement and fun. The club was buzzing with energy as seasoned and new members alike gathered together on a splendid Saturday morning in April. The sun was shining high and warm, while a cool breeze provided just the perfect amount of chill. And to top it all off, the club was in for a treat - delicious cheesesteaks!
The ride was filled with adventure as new and seasoned riders tackled the perfect route for a first ride of the season. It was challenging enough to get your heart racing but not too difficult. Everyone had a wonderful time conquering a few hills and enjoyed the tailwind on their way back home.
After the ride, the members were left with a sense of motivation and inspiration to keep the momentum going. Even new members felt a sense of belonging and couldn't wait to see what more the club would bring in the coming months. The excitement was palpable, with Michael Dozer even hitting 25 on the way back - an incredible achievement!
One new member gushed, "Awesome time in the saddle today! Loved the route, the hills, the tailwind home, but most of all loved my new riding buddies. Thanks all for the welcome and encouragement in every way!" It's such a delight to hear new members already feel at home with the club.
Of course, not all post-ride fuels can be healthy, but on this day, the cheesesteaks were just what everyone needed. The camaraderie and great ride made for the perfect start to the season. If you're not yet a member, now's the time to join the Major Taylor Cycling Club and see what you're missing. Let's go!
